Hello, and welcome — I’m truly glad you are here. I deeply honor the courage it takes to reach out for support, and I want you to know that you do not have to walk this path alone. I am here to walk alongside you.
My name is Jahnavel Sanchez, and I am a Registered Social Worker with a Master of Social Work degree and a clinical specialization in trauma-informed practice from the University of Calgary. With over a decade of experience across diverse systems — including education, healthcare, and community-based organizations.
I work from a holistic, trauma-informed lens that respects the full humanity and complexity of each person I serve. With warmth and a culturally responsive approach, I have supported children, youth, and families through mental health challenges, crises, and accessing essential services, while promoting strengths-based practices that build hope and connection. Drawing on a range of approaches — including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy–Trauma-Informed (CBT-TI), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, Expressive Arts, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Neurodiversity-Affirming Therapy (NAT), and somatic and mindfulness-based practices — I strive to nurture healing and resilience. I am fluent in English, French and Spanish.
My therapeutic support is always guided by you — client-led and centered on your goals, your pace, and your lived experiences. I believe in meeting you where you are and holding space for your story with care and empathy.
My areas of practice include supporting:
• Neurodiverse individuals to nurture their mental and emotional well-being
• Children and youth impacted by trauma
As well as working with families experiencing:
• Parenting challenges
• Divorce
• Adoption and kinship care
And helping individuals navigate:
• Depression
• Grief and loss
• Cultural identity issues
• Post-migration grief
• Life transitions
• Self-esteem
• Stress and burnout
At the heart of my practice is a deep belief in the power of connection, empowerment, and healing. I feel privileged to walk alongside people from all backgrounds, including racialized, 2SLGBTQIA+, and neurodiverse communities. I am committed to anti-oppressive, inclusive, and identity-affirming care, and I believe that promoting Indigenous mental health means respecting traditional healing practices, supporting Indigenous-led approaches, and working with humility and appreciation for community wisdom.
It would be an honor to accompany you as you work toward a balanced and fulfilling life. You are warmly invited to book a free 15-minute consultation through our administrative team or online through our Jane page. I look forward to the privilege of walking this journey with you.
