Although she is not yet Registered Provisional Psychologist, Mikayla works under the supervision of a Registered Psychologist, ensuring high standards of care. Her supervised status provides clients with the benefit of her extensive training and compassionate approach, along with the guidance and expertise of licensed professionals.
This structure allows clients to receive quality care within a supportive, supervised environment, offering both affordability and reliability in therapeutic support.

In the counselling space, everything that is shared is kept completely confidential, though there are limits to confidentiality. The limits to confidentiality are discussed in detail during the beginning of an initial session so you may provide free and informed consent prior to sharing details of your personal experience.
What should I expect during a consultation with Mikayla?
The purpose of a consult is for you and Mikayla to assess for fit before beginning the counselling process. During the consult, Mikayla will ask for you to briefly share a bit about your current experience, areas you are hoping to access support with, the counselling approaches that are of interest to you, and any questions you have about the counselling process. Mikayla will then share if she may competently support your experience, and what counselling with her may look like. During the consult you are encouraged to assess if you believe Mikayla is the right fit for you.
What should I expect during an initial session with Mikayla?
Your first session will begin by reviewing her informed consent document which details the counselling process. If you choose to continue with the counselling process and provide your free, prior, and informed consent, Mikayla will then invite you to discuss your experience in more detail, to the extent that you are comfortable with, so you may identify what you hope to gain from accessing counselling. From there, Mikayla will attune her approach as your journey together begins.
What if I feel Mikayla isn’t the right fit?
Mikayla values honoring and supporting your healing journey. If you or she feels that another therapist may be a better fit, she may thoughtfully refer you to other clinicians who may better suit your journey.
