Hello, and welcome — I’m truly glad you’re here.
Reaching out for support takes courage, and you do not have to navigate life’s challenges alone. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, working through difficult experiences, or seeking a deeper understanding of yourself, I would be honored to walk alongside you.
My name is Jahnavel Sanchez, and I am committed to creating a warm, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where you feel safe, heard, and supported. I believe every person deserves to be met with empathy, respect, and understanding, and that each individual’s story, lived experiences, and strengths are an essential part of the therapeutic journey.
Beyond my role as a Registered Social Worker, I am a mother of two youth, which has deepened my appreciation for the complexities, joys, and challenges young people and families experience throughout different stages of life. I am also an animal lover and share my home with my furry companion, who reminds me of the meaningful relationships we build with the world and beings around us.
Outside of the therapy room, I find grounding and renewal through time spent in nature, including camping and hiking. These experiences continue to reinforce my belief in the importance of connection, presence, and balance as part of emotional well-being.
As a Registered Social Worker with a Master of Social Work and a clinical specialization in trauma-informed practice, I bring over ten years of experience supporting children, adolescents, adults, and families across education, healthcare, and community settings. I provide counselling in English, French, and Spanish.
My own lived experiences with trauma have shaped my understanding of healing and strengthened my commitment to creating therapeutic spaces rooted in safety, compassion, trust, and connection. They shape my trauma-informed, strengths-based, and culturally responsive approach, where I honor each person’s unique story, identity, strengths, and goals.
Grounded in an inclusive and anti-oppressive framework, I provide care that respects the diverse lived experiences of racialized, Indigenous, 2SLGBTQIA+, neurodiverse individuals, and families.
Drawing from evidence-informed approaches, I collaborate with each client to identify therapeutic strategies that align with their needs, values, and goals, including:
