Registered Social Worker (RSW)

Hi there! My name is Danielle and I am a Registered Social Worker with Midnight Sun Wellness.

Reaching out for support is a deeply courageous act, and I’m so glad you’re here. Whether you’re navigating big life transitions, trying to make sense of overwhelming emotions, coping with loss, living with trauma, or simply looking for a space to feel heard and supported — know that you’re not alone in this.

I have a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Edinburgh and for over five years, I’ve supported children, youth, and families as a Family School Liaison Worker within the school system. For over five years, I’ve supported children, youth, and families as a Family School Liaison Worker within the school system. In this role, I have had the privilege of walking alongside students and parents as they navigated:

  • Emotional regulation
  • Anxiety and depression
  • Parental separation/divorce
  • Grief and loss
  • Trauma and adverse childhood experiences
  • Peer relationship challenges
  • Self-harm and suicidal ideation
  • Self-esteem and identity development
  • School-related stress and life transitions

Therapy with me is a collaborative process. I believe that you are the expert in your own life, and I view my role as one of empowerment and support — walking alongside you as you explore what healing, growth, and change may look like on your own terms. I bring a holistic, compassionate, relational, and self-reflective approach to the work I do. Having experienced both sides of the therapeutic relationship myself, I understand the vulnerability it takes to reach out for help and acknowledge the strength in doing so.

In my work with children, youth, and adults, I offer a compassionate, non-judgmental space that centers on transparency and genuineness, which I believe are essential to building safety and trust. I strive to meet each person where they’re at and tailor therapy to fit your unique needs and preferences.

Depending on what’s most helpful to you, I may draw from:

  • Narrative Therapy
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
  • Solution-Focused Therapy
  • Mindfulness and somatic-based practices
  • Attachment and trauma-informed approaches

I deeply value the opportunity to work with individuals from all backgrounds, including those from racialized communities, 2SLGBTQIA+ communities, and individuals living with neurodiversity and am committed to anti-oppressive, inclusive, and identity-affirming care. It is my intention to create a space where you feel seen, understood, and empowered — where your background and lived experiences are welcome and supported.

If it feels like we may be a good fit, I would love to connect. You can book a free 15-minute consultation through our administrative team or online through our Jane page. I look forward to the opportunity to walk alongside you on your journey.
